What is Science Olympiad?
Science Olympiad is a team-based academic competition organized across the United States with the participation of middle and high school students, combining scientific knowledge with practical application. Students compete in a wide range of disciplines such as entomology, microbiology, air trajectory, and planetary science through both written exams and hands-on experiments, engineering design challenges, and project-based activities. The process begins with regional tournaments and continues with state-level and national finals for successful teams. Science Olympiad aims to increase students’ interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields by developing their critical thinking, problem-solving, scientific application, and teamwork skills.
