May 08, 2025 Turkish Universities Education Fair Attracted Great Attention in Indonesia

The Higher Education Fairs organized by Turkish Maarif Foundation since 2018 were successfully held in Indonesia after Senegal, Pakistan, Morocco and Ivory Coast in 2025. The fair was organized simultaneously in the capital cities of Jakarta and Medan with the participation of 21 Turkish universities. Seven of these universities were represented at the rector level.The opening ceremony of the Indonesia Turkish Universities Education Fair was held in the capital Jakarta with the participation of Turkish Ambassador to Indonesia Talip Küçükcan and Mehmet Cangir, Member of the Board of Directors of Turkish Maarif Foundation. Following the opening speeches, a panel titled “Higher Education Cooperation Areas between Türkiye and Indonesia” was organized to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Indonesia. Ambassador Küçükcan and Board Member Mehmet Cangir participated in the panel as speakers.The fair in Jakarta attracted great interest from approximately 1500 Indonesian students. Students, who had the opportunity to learn about higher education opportunities in Türkiye directly from university representatives, expressed their satisfaction with the fair.The second leg of the fair was held in Medan. The opening speeches of the event in Medan were made by Honorary Consul Dr. Rahman Shah and Board Member Dr. Mehmet Cangir. Approximately 1400 students participated in the fair in this city.Important Collaborations Signed in the Field of Higher EducationDuring the Medan leg of the fair, important cooperation agreements were signed between the rectors of Turkish universities and Indonesian university administrators. At the ceremony, where 14 different protocols were signed in total, Indonesian officials stated that they would come to Türkiye at the first opportunity and hold meetings for the projects planned in line with the signed agreements.Speaking at the ceremony, Semih Aktekin, Rector of Nevşehir Hacı Bektaşi Veli University, stated that he believes that the relations between the two countries will further strengthen thanks to the cooperation signed. Emphasizing that Türkiye's progress in the field of higher education in recent years is a great opportunity for Indonesian students, Aktekin said that more Indonesian students should study in Türkiye.Currently, more than 5 thousand Indonesian students are studying in Türkiye. Turkish Maarif Foundation organized an education fair in Morocco to promote Turkish universities and educational opportunities.Turkish Maarif Foundation organized an education fair in Casablanca and Marrakech, Morocco with the participation of 16 Turkish universities. The fair was an important event where Turkish universities were introduced and Moroccan students had the opportunity to learn about educational opportunities in Turkish.Bingöl, Kayseri, Kastamonu, Yozgat Bozok University, TED, Doğuş, Istanbul Commerce, Bursa Uludağ, İstinye, Nişantaşı, Beykent, Atılım, Yüksek İhtisas, Istanbul Kent, Istanbul Gelişim and OSTİM Technical Universities participated in the third Turkish Universities Education Fair in Morocco. In addition, Rabat Yunus Emre Institute, Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) and Turkish Airlines also provided information at the fair.Mustafa İlker Kılıç, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Rabat, stated in his opening speech that there are 5 thousand Moroccan students studying in Türkiye and that he believes this number will increase in the future. Kılıç said that he attended the fair for the second time and found it useful, emphasizing the interest of Turkish universities in Moroccan students.The fair allowed Moroccan students, especially at the senior high school level, to meet with university representatives for university planning and find answers to their questions. The Maarif Education Agency under Turkish Maarif Foundation (TMF) organized an education fair in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, to promote Turkish universities.Yeditepe, Üsküdar, Atılım, Gelişim and Doğuş universities opened stands at the fair organized for the first time this year.The opening ribbon of the fair was cut by Turkish Ambassador to Dakar Nur Sağman, TMF Board Member Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özkan, TMF Senegal Coordinator Enes Yörük and some participating university officials.In her speech here, Ambassador Sağman said that the education fairs organized by the Maarif Education Agency since 2018 are very important and that thanks to these fairs, students from many countries around the world meet with universities in Türkiye.Stating that the already excellent relations between Türkiye and Senegal will deepen even more with such educational collaborations, Sağman addressed the students attending the fair in French and gave a brief explanation about the educational opportunities in Türkiye.Özkan underlined that this was the first time they had organized such a fair in Senegal, and said that they wanted qualified and well-educated students to continue their education in Türkiye.After the opening ceremony, Ambassador Sağman and Özkan visited the stands and chatted with the students.The fair, where Dakar Yunus Emre Institute also opened a stand, attracted great interest from schools in and around Dakar.Students, who formed long queues around the stands, received information about education in Türkiye from the authorities....
