The "6 Continents 1 Language" project, carried out by Turkish Maarif Foundation and bringing together students from six continents through the Turkish language, concluded with the Turkish Mini Documentary Contest. The final stage of the project was held at Turkish Maarif Foundation Headquarters.
In the competition, young people from different countries presented their cultural values through Turkish videos. In the final, students from Ethiopia, Chad, Syria, Tunisia, Albania, France, and Afghanistan competed with 5–7-minute documentary videos they prepared in their countries. The winner of the competition was Erdoğan Zaman from Afghanistan.
During the program, Turkish Maarif Foundation President Mahmut M. Özdil congratulated the students and said:
“As Turkish Maarif Foundation, we carry out educational activities in 64 countries. It is very important for us that students from different cultures receive an education compatible with their own cultural values while also learning Turkish effectively. This project also strengthens cultural interaction among students.”
Özdil also emphasized that one of the main objectives of the project was for students to present their own cultures in Turkish and expressed his satisfaction in getting to know more closely the cultural richness of the countries where TMV operates. Vice President of Turkish Maarif Foundation Ahmet Emre Bilgili and AK Party Bursa Deputy Osman Mesten also attended the program and delivered speeches.
What is the “6 Continents 1 Language” Project?
Within the scope of the “6 Continents 1 Language” project, students from a total of 43 countries took part. Throughout the project, online presentations and quizzes were organized. The students who made it to the finals were rewarded with a trip to Istanbul.
By making Turkish presentations on topics such as local festivals, fairy tales, cuisine, traditional clothing, handicrafts, dances, architectural structures, and weddings, the students both introduced their own cultures and had the opportunity to learn about other cultures.
