At an education fair organized in Tunisia by the Maarif Agency operating under Turkish Maarif Foundation, Turkish universities met with Tunisian youth and introduced educational opportunities. Participating universities shared comprehensive information on scholarship opportunities and campus facilities.
The fair, organized by the Maarif Agency under the umbrella of Turkish Maarif Foundation, brought together universities and students who wish to pursue higher education in Türkiye. At the event, which attracted great interest from Tunisian youth, universities delivered presentations on their academic programs, scholarship options, and campus life.
Türkiye’s Ambassador to Tunisia, Ahmet Misbah Demircan, emphasized in his speech at the fair that human capital plays a critical role in strengthening relations between the two countries. Stating that cooperation in industry, trade, education, and culture will be further reinforced through language and education, Demircan said: “Human capital is of great importance in developing relations between the two countries in every aspect. The main barrier to this is language. The presence of our Maarif schools here and the students learning Turkish are among our most valuable assets.” He also noted that Tunisian students studying in Türkiye would contribute to building lasting ties and that cooperation in education would further strengthen economic and cultural relations in the future.
Maarif Agency President Hamza Özdemir, in his statement to Anadolu Agency, recalled that the agency was established in 2020 and said that they aim to promote Türkiye as a leading choice for higher education among students in countries where Turkish Maarif Foundation operates. Özdemir stated, “Through education fairs, online events, and campus visits, we bring Turkish universities together with students from 64 countries. At the same time, we bring students to Türkiye and introduce universities on-site.”
Özdemir also noted that more than 4,000 students who graduated from Türkiye Maarif Foundation schools are continuing their education in Türkiye, and that tens of thousands of students have been guided to Türkiye for higher education since the foundation’s establishment.
