June 11, 2024

Turkish Maarif Foundation (TMF) hosted 20 high school students from Albanian Maarif Schools in Türkiye between 20-25 May as part of the Türkiye Phase of the ‘Youth Exchange’ programme implemented in cooperation with the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports. This programme aims to promote cultural exchange among young people and strengthen international educational ties.

The students visited Youth Centres in Istanbul, Bursa and Çanakkale in Türkiye. During these visits, the students participated in various activities to exchange education and culture. They also visited the historical and touristic sites of these cities, which are full of Türkiye's social richness and cultural diversity. They had unforgettable experiences in many fields, especially gastronomy.

Students from Albanian Maarif International Schools visited TMF Headquarters on 21 May 2024. The students were welcomed by teachers and officials from the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports. Halime Kökce, Member of the Board of Directors of TMF, Ahmet Güney, Head of the Department of Student and Alumni Affairs, and the relevant Heads of Departments introduced the work of the Foundation to the students. This visit was a platform for the exchange of ideas where the Republic of Türkiye, Turkish Maarif Foundation and the experience in the field of education were mutually shared.

The ‘Youth Exchange’ programme aims to contribute to young people to become successful individuals in the global world by enabling them to gain international experience and get to know different cultures. TMF will continue to support young people in their progress towards becoming world citizens through such programmes. The programme is planned to continue with Bosnia and Herzegovina in July and North Macedonia & Kosovo Youth Exchange Programmes in September.
