June 13, 2024

An Afghan Culture and Literature fair was organised at the Afghan-Turkish Maarif Schools Ariana Boys' High School affiliated to Turkish Maarif Foundation (TMF) in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.

In the event organised for the Afghan Culture and Literature Week, the students of the school exhibited the cultural values of their countries.

Within the scope of the fair, painting and calligraphy works, wooden handicrafts, food, local clothes, books and old money collections were presented to the participants.

Poems were read, compositions were written, national sports games were exhibited and competitions were organised.

On the last day of the week-long event, students who ranked in the competitions organised on the last day of the event were given prizes.

The event was closely followed by the Afghan press.

Ibrahim Fatih Güçlü, Director of Afghan-Turkish Maarif Schools Ariana Boys' High School, told that they wanted to remind students of Afghanistan's customs and traditions as a whole.

Emphasising that there was intense participation in the fair, Güçlü said:

‘One of the aims of this work we have done was actually that one of the biggest problems today is technology addiction. We aimed to take the students away from technology to some extent and to direct them towards their own culture, to play their own games, to engage in their own arts.’
