Students of Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools in Pakistan have completed a nationwide internship programme.

Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools organised a large-scale internship programme for senior students in Pakistan to contribute to their professional development.

193 students from 11 campuses in 8 cities participated in the internship programme.

The students completed their internship training in governmental and non-governmental organisations in fields such as finance, social development, health, human resources, marketing, medicine and information technologies.

The programme aimed to transfer students' academic education into practice, motivate them in their career planning and prepare them for the future.

Essa Khushdil, who completed the internship programme, said that she was pleased to be given the chance to gain experience by working.

Khushdil stated that the internship was an incredible opportunity for her and said, ‘I gained valuable experience in scientific discoveries that will be useful for my future.’

Anka Rizwan, one of the Cambridge Programme students, said, ‘Through this internship programme, I had the opportunity to work at the Benazir Bhutto Women's Shelter and Rehabilitation Centre in Islamabad. This experience not only raised my awareness of my future focus area, but also opened the door for me to learn about public health developments.’

Hammad Ali, who interned at the Department of Child Psychiatry at Mayo Hospital in Lahore, said, ‘The therapy sessions I attended were very useful for me in understanding the difficulties faced by adolescents. This experience contributed greatly to my professional knowledge in the field of psychology and increased my motivation towards my field.’

Turkish Maarif Foundation Pakistan Director Harun Küçükaladağlı said that the positive feedback received from students, parents and organisations made them happy.

While the internship programme contributed to the practical knowledge of the students, parents expressed their satisfaction with this training planned for their children.

Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools, one of the few schools in Pakistan offering comprehensive internship opportunities, aims to support students' career and professional development.
