Turkish Maarif Foundation (TMF) Romania Representative Office organized an iftar program at Bucharest International Maarif School
Ambassador of Türkiye to Bucharest Özgür Kıvanç Altan, President of TMF Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün and guests from the business world, non-governmental organizations and diplomatic missions attended the iftar.
In his speech at the program, Turkish Ambassador to Bucharest Altan thanked everyone who contributed to the success of TMF and said, "I sincerely congratulate Maarif, which has made a breakthrough in the field of education in Romania in a short time. I sincerely congratulate the entire Maarif community for this success."
TMF President Akgün said, "As Turkish Maarif Foundation, we operate many schools in 52 countries of the world. We have around 440 schools and 52 thousand students. This school chain of ours is gradually expanding. We want these schools to contribute to the development of ties between Türkiye and the countries where they are located, between the peoples. The way to do this is of course through quality, qualified education."
TMF Romania Representative Alpaslan Ateş also stated that the Maarif school strengthens the friendship between Türkiye and Romania.
Akgün also made visits in Constanta
On the other hand, Akgün also visited Emre Yurdakul, Consul General of Türkiye in Constanta.
During the meeting between Yurdakul and Akgün, the planned new campus of TMF in Constanta and its activities were discussed.
Akgün met with representatives of the business world, representatives of non-governmental organizations and opinion leaders in Constanta and had an iftar meal.
