We are looking for a Legal Counsel – Contracts & Acquisitions Your future team Our internal legal department plays an important role in ensuring high quality standards, protecting Turkish Maarif Foundation’s reputation and managing the risks associated with the business developed by the Organization. As a legal counsel within the Legal Department, you will assist the local team in negotiating contracts, manage complex litigation cases, strive for cutting-edge solutions, advice on regulatory developments and help in ensuring the completion of Foundation’s activities with applicable regulations. Your next challenge Draft and negotiate various contracts such as share purchase agreements, property purchase agreements, as well as agreements with providers. Advise the management on a broad range of corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters in providing comprehensive and pragmatic advice. Provide general legal advice on applicable laws and regulations, and on all Foundations policies and guidelines. Participate in local and global legal projects. Coach junior members from the internal Legal Department. Contribute to internal projects such as building an efficient information system and data protection issues. Your Skills Master's Degree in Law, with at least 3 years of a strong professional experience as an in-house lawyer in an “international environment” or a law firm, with focus on contracts. Experience with contract or company law is an advantage. Ability to analyze complex situations and obtain information to reach sound conclusions. Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and meeting tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders. Team player with ability to interact with multiple levels in an organization in an international environment. Problem solver with a positive mind-set and can-do attitude who shows flexibility. February 02, 2018 Maarif Schools are in Tanzania
Turkish Maarif Foundation has started educational activities in “15th of July Educational Complex Hacı Ayşe Var College” being located in the United Republic of Tanzania Zanzibar Island, on January 23, 2018, it had already been incorporated by Maarif Schools on September 23, 2017. Turkish Maarif Foundation has used every means available for “15th of July Educational Complex Hacı Ayşe Var College, with its understanding of providing Maarif Schools students with a qualified education in accordance with its “For the Good of the World” motto. Being a center of interest with its architecture and location, 15th of July Educational Complex Hacı Ayşe Var College, where Turkish and local educators have been serving, has the capacity of 140 students and it includes many physical opportunities such as library, laboratory, health room, cafeteria and sports fields....

June 29, 2017 Scholarship Opportunity for the Foreign Students from Turkish Maarif Foundation
Chairman of the board of trustees and the executive board of Turkish Maarif Foundation, Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün gave an interview to Anatolian Agency about the works of the foundation. Akgün stated that Turkish Maarif Foundation carries out activities in order to abolish the campaigns to discredit Turkey by means of the educational institutions of FETÖ (Gulenist Terror Organisation) and to strengthen the brotherhood relations with the local communities while struggling for taking over these educational institutions and also said that they are carrying out activities for endearing Turkish language, culture and history in the relevant countries within mutual cultural exchange. In the interview, Akgün stated that Turkish Maarif Foundation negotiated with approximately 50 countries within the frame of struggle with FETÖ, 30 schools in Africa was taken over after these negotiations with the support of President Erdoğan and agreements were signed with 20 countries. He also said that “We are carrying out activities for the employment of educators who know Turkish language and culture and who are willing to serve for their country after their graduation, in the schools we have taken over and we are planning to open. We encourage them to enter the faculties of education within the scope of this project.” Having stated that they want to create a pool for scholarship, they initiated a work for this aim and they cooperated with the Ministry of National Education about it, Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün announced that they are going to supply scholarship for the students of Imam-Hatip schools who continue their education receiving scholarship of Turkish Diyanet (Religious) Foundation with the cooperation of the Ministry of National Education with the status of public boarding school in the event that they choose the faculties of education. Akgün also said that in the case that they choose faculties of education, they are going to supply scholarship for the students who continue their education with their own means and with the scholarship of Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities along with foreign students educated in 7 International Imam-Hatip High Schools in Turkey. “Students being citizens approximately 60-70 countries receive their high school education in Turkey. Some of them prefer the faculties of theology. In this case, Diyanet Foundation supplies scholarship for them. Students who want to receive education in the specific areas such as Politics, Law, Medicine and Engineering have scholarship from the Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities. We want to include the students of International Imam-Hatip High Schools and other foreign students in the employment pool because they learned Turkish and they know the conditions in Turkey. We are planning to supply scholarship during all their educational life, in the case that they enter the faculties of education.” he said. Having expressed that they are going to give scholarship for the students enough for their maintenance of education in Turkey, Akgün also said that they are going to register students being prospective teachers for Turkish Maarif Foundation Teachers Certificate Program and they are going to give lectures about the aims, mission of the foundation and the professional education. He also explained that “We will ensure the students for their life guarantee by creating an employment pool. It is highly important for both the relevant country and Turkey that teachers who know Turkish along with the local language are going to work in our schools we opened in Balkans, Africa and many regions in the World. One of the biggest aims of Turkish Maarif Foundation is to be an international educational center. So, we are planning to create our own teachers pool.” Having stated that they are going to sign an agreement for the compulsory service with the students who receive scholarship, Akgün also expressed that being one of the few scholarships, Turkish Maarif Foundation scholarship is going to make an important contribution to the educational life....

June 14, 2017 Two Schools in Kosovo from Turkish Maarif Foundation
Continuing their works in the next educational season with its 30 countries aim, Turkish Maarif Foundation included two schools in Kosovo to its structure, in accordance with this aim. Placing a special importance to the Balkans Geography, Turkish Maarif Foundation made a deal for a new school in Prizren to be activated in the next year, besides the school in Pristina it took over in the previous educational season. Two new schools going to start education in 2017-2018 educational year in Kosovo. Carrying out their works rapidly in both schools having primary, secondary and high school grades, Turkish Maarif Foundation is going to do launching of their schools in Kosovo, with an iftar dinner (breaking meal for Ramadan fasting) where many participants going to attend after the graduation ceremony of the acquired school in Pristina. Local community is going to be informed about the activities and aims of the foundation and it is going to be announced that two new schools are going to be serving for Kosovan people. Iftar event which was going to be held in the 17th of July in Pristina is waited by the local community excitedly, because it is the first meeting with Maarif Schools which are expected to make important contributions to the educational life in Kosovo. ...

May 24, 2017 Georgia Move from Turkish Maarif Foundation
Second session of Turkey-Georgia High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (YDSK) meeting was held under the presidency of Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikaşvili. Maarif Foundation Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Cem Zorlu also participated in the meeting. After the meetings having a busy agenda, Prof. Zorlu paid official visits for the schools planned to be opened in Georgia by Maarif Foundation. He visited Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikaşvili, Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Bahadır Şahin, Georgia Coordinator of TIKA Hüseyin Şanlı and Tbilisi Ambassador Zeki Levent Gümrükçü in their offices and he informed them about the works of Turkish Maarif Foundation. He said that Turkish Maarif Foundation is a strategic institution, it aims to be in 193 countries, it is Turkey’s window of education opening to the world and it will lead to carry our science, wisdom and virtues being our common heritage for centuries around the world. He said that “We believe that the education is a whole. We take part in all processes from preschool to the university.” ...
