Turkish Maarif Foundation Celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye Around the World

The 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye was celebrated with various activities at the Turkish Maarif Foundation's (TMF) Maarif Schools all over the world. In addition to the Turkish flag, the schools unfurled banners with the words "100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye" and "Happy October 29, Republic Day".


Our Republic Day was celebrated with various activities organized by students in different languages in 465 educational institutions in 52 countries in different geographies such as Albania, Romania, Kosovo, Burundi, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Hungary, Mali, and Pakistan.


Forest Opening Took Place in the Republic of the Congo




In cooperation with the Congolese Maarif Schools and the Turkish Embassy, 2,600 acacia trees were planted on the banks of the Congo River on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic. The opening ceremony was also attended by Turkish Ambassador Hilmi Ege Türemen, Congolese Minister of Environment and Forestry Rosalie Matondo, Bacanco Mayor Simone Loubianga and Congo TMF Representative Muttalip Cansızoğlu. This meaningful event aims to highlight the enduring friendship of the two countries and their awareness of environmental protection.




Mauritania


The 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye Celebrations in Mauritania and Peace Theme


In Mauritania, activities for the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye were organized by the International Nouakchott Maarif Schools and the theme of peace was brought to the fore. These activities continued for a week and were enthusiastically received by Mauritanian students.


The events started with middle school students greeting their friends with Turkish flags. There were also speeches highlighting the importance of the 100th anniversary. Later, high school students showed a "100th Anniversary” board with white doves. Then, middle, and high school students created a heart-shaped choreography using the flags of the two countries. These events were held to emphasize the importance of peace and friendship.


Cameroon




Within the Scope of the Century of Türkiye Programs, our Member of the Board of Trustees, Mahmut M. Özdil, Gave a Speech at the Cameroon Institute of International Relations (IRIC).

In the program organized by the Turkish Embassy in Yaoundé at IRIC on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of our Republic, our Member of the Board of Trustees Özdil gave a speech on Türkiye's international cooperation in the field of education, the activities of TMF around the world and in Cameroon.


Senegal




Interview of the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye and Senegal Maarif Schools Painting Contest


Dakar Maarif Schools organized various activities with the participation of students in order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye. One of these events, a talk on "100 Years of Türkiye" was held. In the interview, Turkish teacher Furkan Şişman and History teacher Ndeye Fatou Gaye conveyed the hundred years of Türkiye to the students chronologically in terms of important events. This interview aimed to promote the sharing of information on the history and development of Türkiye.


The painting contest titled "Happy Birthday Türkiye" was held with the participation of students. This competition provided an opportunity for students to express their emotional attachment to Türkiye and their creative talents. These events, which were held to celebrate Türkiye's 100th anniversary, contributed to the introduction of Turkish culture and history to international students.




Australia




Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye in Australia and the "Anatolian Musical of Love"


In Australia, as part of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, the "Anatolian Musical of Love", staged in Sydney by the students of the Australian International Maarif Schools, attracted great attention. The program was described as a spectacle that captivated the participants.


Canberra Ambassador Ufuk Gezer congratulated the audience on the Republic Day at the musical. In addition, State Deputy Lynda Voltz, Mayor of Cumberland Lisa Lake, Director of Maarif College Necmi Uzun, NSW Multiculturalism Board Member Ömer İncekara, members of our Consulate General and our citizens came together to watch the musical.


The participants thanked the Maarif Schools administration, teachers and students for their impressive performance on the anniversary of the establishment of our Republic.


In addition, the International Australian Maarif Schools participated in the event organized by the Cumberland Municipality and held a Republic march with Ambassador Ufuk Gezer.




Hungary




Maarif Students in Hungary Took the Stage at the Reception


Students of the Maarif School in Budapest took the stage at the 100th anniversary reception hosted by Türkiye's Ambassador to Budapest Gülşen Karanis Ekşioğlu. At the reception, the students first sang the Turkish national anthem and then the Hungarian national anthem with pride and enthusiasm. This special moment was considered an important event as an expression of respect and friendship for the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.


Romania




"The Republic in the Light of the Century!" Exhibition Held in Romania


Romanian International Maarif Schools, Republic Week and the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye. As part of the activities of the year, he organized a photo exhibition called "The Republic in the Light of the Century!". This exhibition was enriched with photographs selected from the archives of the Turkish Historical Society and works selected from the first years of the Republican period to the present day. The exhibition aimed to provide an educational experience for students and visitors, providing an important resource for understanding Türkiye's 100th anniversary and history.


As part of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, Romanian International Maarif Schools held an important talk titled "The Republic and Atatürk through the Eyes of the Romanian Public Opinion".


As part of the program, Dr. Metin Ömer, a graduate of Hacettepe University's Department of History, met with the students of the Maarif School. Presenting important information about the Republic of Türkiye and Atatürk to the students, Dr. Metin Ömer interacted with the students and took a souvenir photo. This talk aimed to provide a useful experience to students who are interested in Turkish history and culture and contributed to the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.


Albania


In Albania was Celebrated with Enthusiasm both the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye and the 100th anniversary of Türkiye-Albania Diplomatic Relations.


Events celebrating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye and the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Albania were held with great enthusiasm at Maarif Tirana Campus New York Schools. This meaningful day marks the 100th anniversary of the Turkish-Albanian Maarif Choir. The year was crowned with anthems.


A magnificent show was held at the Maarif Shkoder Campus to celebrate Turkish history and culture with the enthusiasm of the 100th anniversary. Filled with many events, from heartwarming songs to fascinating dance performances to enlightening conversations about Türkiye's national journey, this day was filled with feelings of pride and unity.


Maarif Tirana Campus hosted an unforgettable event that was filled with the excitement of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye and the century-old friendship between Albania and Türkiye. Students and the school community came together to honor this occasion and organize a spectacular concert and event. These celebrations were a special way to share the unity and history of the Turkish and Albanian communities.


Kosovo




Enthusiastic Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye in Kosovo.


The 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye was celebrated with great enthusiasm and excitement at our school in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. Our students crowned the number 100 with the Turkish flag to make sense of this special day. School corridors and billboards were decorated with the red and white colors of the Turkish flag.


At the event, our students commemorated the 100-year proud history of the Republic of Türkiye with an exquisite program. This special celebration has been an unforgettable experience for both students and teaching staff, reinforcing the historical and cultural ties between the two countries.


Azerbaijan


Special Celebration at Heydar Aliyev Palace: 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye


With the organization of Baku Turkish Anatolian High School and the support of our school, a meaningful event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye was held at the Heydar Aliyev Palace. Azerbaijan International Maarif Schools, Atatürk High School and Baku Turkish High School, affiliated to the Dayanat Foundation, also participated in this special day.


After the official opening of the event, Türkiye's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cahit Bağcı, addressed the participants. Also at the event, Fatima Hüseyinli, a 6 "B" grade student from the Maarif Schools, sang the poem "Towards the Mediterranean" with an emotional performance.


The event was an important step to pay tribute to the 100-year proud history of the Republic of Türkiye and to strengthen the bridges of friendship between the two countries.


Kyrgyzstan


A Great Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye Held at the Kyrgyzstan Maarif Education Complex.


Kyrgyzstan Maarif Education Complex celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye with weeks of meticulous preparations and great enthusiasm. Students and teachers joined hands to prepare the entire school for this important holiday. Teachers and students of all levels, from the youngest to the oldest, commemorated the republic with the most sincere feelings with dances, songs and exhibitions.


Together with their classroom teachers, the students decorated their classrooms and boards in a way that emphasized the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye. The works of the students, who made beautiful decorations with their painting skills and creativity, were evaluated by a committee established in the school and the classes that won the competition were awarded.


Together with their teachers and students, the technology class prepared felt paintings for October 29 and the 100th anniversary. These paintings were displayed at the entrance of the school, creating a small exhibition for both students and visiting parents.

Especially this year, since it was the 100th anniversary of the republic, the holiday was even more special and meaningful. An entertaining program was held in the conference hall of the school with the participation of secondary school students. The program included songs, dances, poems, oratorios, and a video about the history of the republic. The event, which was accompanied by performances by primary school students and oratorio by middle school students, folkdances, and anthems, was an unforgettable celebration for the students.


Pakistan




Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools Held an Enthusiastic Celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye


Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye with a well-attended and magnificent program. The program was attended by Turkish Ambassador Prof. Dr. Mehmet Paçacı, Ambassador of Northern Cyprus Dilşad Şenol, Joint Education Advisor and Secretary General of the Pakistani National Commission for UNESCO Mr. Syed Junaid Akhlaq, senior Pakistani and Turkish officials, as well as many parents.




The event was widely covered in Pakistan's national media with the participation of more than 20 different media members. The program, which was broadcast live on Pak-Turk Maarif's YouTube and Facebook pages, also hosted thousands of online participants.


The program ended with the screening of a documentary video about the centenary of the republic, a folkdance show, a theater show about the solidarity between the two countries and the performances of students. This meaningful event strengthened the ties of friendship between Türkiye and Pakistan and enthusiastically celebrated the proud 100-year history of the republic.


Activities were also held in Maarif Schools and training centers in Belgium, Germany, America, Ethiopia, Gambia, South Africa, Georgia, Cameroon, Kosovo, Guinea and Venezuela for the 29 October Republic Day.
