Great Success from the US Maarif School: 'First Degree' and 8 'Honorable Mention' Awards

Turkish Maarif Foundation USA students participated in the Global Citizen Model UN conference held at the United Nations New York building and presented solutions to global problems. The school won the “Best Mid-Level Delegation” award, while eight students received “Honorable Mention” awards.

US Maarif School students participated in the Global Citizen Model UN conference held at the United Nations (UN) building in New York between February 27 and March 1, 2025. In this prestigious organization, students represented their countries and addressed global challenges, had the opportunity to experience diplomacy and problem solving.

Maarif School students, who discussed critical global issues for three days with students from all over the world, left their mark on the event with the presentations they prepared and the ideas they defended.

Model UN simulations helped students gain in-depth knowledge about the workings of the UN, while also allowing them to develop their leadership skills.

These simulations are known worldwide as a platform for renowned leaders in law, government, business and the arts.

At this year's conference, Maarif School was awarded the “Best Mid-Level Delegation” award. In addition, eight of the school's students received “Honorable Mention” awards for their outstanding performance.

The students had an important experience contributing to the UN's goals by proposing solutions to global challenges.

This successful participation reinforced the students' knowledge and skills in international relations, diplomacy and global cooperation, and once again demonstrated the school's success in education.
