An important workshop was organized by Turkish Maarif Foundation to update the program prepared for teaching Turkish as a foreign language.
At the workshop, which was held at the headquarters of Turkish Maarif Foundation with the participation of expert academics in the field, the theoretical framework, structural features and educational achievements of the current program were discussed comprehensively.
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching and Assessment supplementary volume, the first edition of the Program was published in 2019. In 2020, it was developed in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, approved by the Board of Education and the second edition was published.
During the workshop, the approach and foundations, structural features, general objectives, outcome lists and assessment and evaluation principles were evaluated in detail.
Speaking at the closing of the workshop, Ahmet Türkben, Member of the Board of Directors of Turkish Maarif Foundation, emphasized the impact of the program in the international arena and drew attention to its strategic role in the spread of Turkish as a global language of education. Türkben said: “The Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language Program is implemented in our international schools, Turkish Education Centers, European Education Centers and other educational institutions that teach Turkish. Turkish lessons are shaped within the framework of this program and are included in international education curricula.”
The workshop ended with thanking the participants and taking a group photo.
