President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University during his visit to Kyrgyzstan.

Speaking here, Erdoğan expressed his pleasure to be in his ancestral homeland, the Kyrgyz Republic.

Pointing out that the most important assurance of the continuity of Turkey-Kyrgyzstan cooperation is the projects in the field of education and training, Erdoğan said:

“As Turkey, we continue our efforts in the field of education and training in order to support Kyrgyz youth to build a brighter future. In this framework, within the scope of the Education Agreement we signed in 1992 immediately after the independence of Kyrgyzstan, we opened our joint school Turkish Kyrgyz Anatolian High School and Anatolian Girls Vocational High School for education. In 1995, we laid the foundations of our Manas University. In 2022, we once again confirmed our support for education in Kyrgyzstan with the opening of our Turkish Maarif Foundation school. At this stage, we have 400 students in our joint high schools, 1200 students in our Bishkek Turkish school, and 3,100 students in our TÖMER Turkish courses. Although it was opened recently, we have reached 1500 students in our Turkish Maarif school. Approximately 7 thousand young brothers and sisters are receiving higher education at Manas University. In other words, we provide direct support to more than 13 thousand students at different levels.”

Emphasizing that they have offered thousands of Kyrgyz students the opportunity to study in Turkey through Turkish scholarships, Erdoğan said, “With all these efforts, we have contributed significantly to the strengthening of the human, academic and cultural capital of our Kyrgyz brothers and sisters. We all know very well that the investments we make in people have never been and will never be in vain.”
