Love of Anatolia Musical by Australian Maarif Schools

Students of the Australian International Maarif Schools affiliated to Turkish Maarif Foundation (TMF) celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye with the musical 'Anatolia is a Passion' in Melbourne.


The students of the Maarif School, which started education in Sydney, Australia in 2019, took the stage in Melbourne for the second performance of the musical "Anatolia is a Passion", the first of which was staged in Sydney.


In the musical, the Turks' coming out of Central Asia and making Anatolia their homeland, the wars they fought, the culture, music and beliefs they created were told in a historical flow.


Türkiye's Consul General in Melbourne Doğan Ferhat Işık, TMF Board of Trustees Member Selim Cerrah, TMF Australia Representative Necmi Uzun, representatives from non-governmental organizations and a large group of guests watched the musical.


"Our Maarif Foundation was established to raise virtuous generations all over the world," Cerrah said in his statement.


Stating that the foundation's second school in Australia will be opened in Melbourne, Cerrah said, "We have determined our location, we have bought our building, we will do much better things."


Emphasizing that they provide bilingual education in Turkish and English at the school, Necmi Uzun said, "We want to raise our children as leaders who know the Turkish language and live the Turkish culture as much as possible."


Hümeyra Elif Aykan, who watched the musical, said, "I was very touched. The show was wonderful. I am very happy to be here."


Turgut Buday said, "I am very glad I came. I learned a lot about our homeland."
