“Consultation Meeting with Imamate-Elocution and Equivalent High Schools Administrators in Balkans and European Countries” was held in 2-5 May 2017, at Istanbul, with the cooperation of the General Directorate of Religious Education of the Ministry of National Education and Turkish Maarif Foundation.
Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education Ömer Faruk Yelkenci made the opening speech. Funda Kocabıyık from the Ministry of National Education European Union Directorate-General for External Relations, Bülent Çiftçi from the Ministry of National Education Directorate-General for Higher Education and Foreign Education, Ministry of National Education Religious Education General Director Nazif Yılmaz, Turkish Maarif Foundation Board of Trustees Member Selim Cerrah, Ministry of National Education Deputy Undersecretary Yusuf Büyük also gave their speeches. School headmasters and representatives from Germany, Brussels, Vienna, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Denmark, Cyprus, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia, Albania and Sanjak district made presentations about their educational systems and their schools.
Imamate-Elocution High School model and historical adventure of religious education in Turkey was explained by the Directorate-General for Religious Education and the participants were informed about it. The need for the productions of the common projects for the future processes was emphasized in the program. “Religious education experience of Turkey is very important for us, because a long way has been made so far. If we apply Imamate-Elocution model in our countries, maybe 10 years later, we can have a President who was graduated from Imamate-Elocution High School.” the participants said.
This program continues intensely with the presentations of Turkish Maarif Foundation and the Ministry of National Education officials. The next stage of the program, which is going to be finalized with Istanbul trip on 5 May 2017, has decided to be held in a Balkan country.
