"An Epic of Patriotism" Panel at Turkish Maarif Foundation

Turkish Maarif Foundation (TMF) organized a meaningful program on the anniversary of the July 15 coup attempt. 

TMF President Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün, TMF Board of Trustees Members, TMF Board Members and foundation staff attended the program moderated by TMF Board Member Dr. Halime Kökçe and featuring academician Prof. Dr. Yusuf Özkır, researcher İhsan Aktaş, martyr's relative and veteran Oğuz Ayanoğlu as speakers.

Delivering the opening speech of the program, TMF President Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün discussed the night of July 15th with its historical dimensions and emphasized the importance of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's call and leadership in preventing the coup attempt. President Akgün underlined the role of TMF in the fight against FETÖ and stated that this fight will continue with determination. President Akgün gave the following statements in his speech:

"Within the framework of the fight against FETÖ led by our President, especially in the field of education, TMF has also fulfilled its duty to restore the schools previously opened by FETÖ abroad to our nation. I congratulate and thank the managers of Maarif Foundation, our teachers and all our staff in the field for their efforts."

President Akgün ended his speech by wishing mercy from Allah to the citizens who were martyred on the night of July 15th and expressed his gratitude to the veterans.

After the opening speech, the presentations of the panelists began. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Özkır drew attention to the importance of the media organs being hand in hand with the nation on the night of July 15, while researcher İhsan Aktaş talked about FETÖ's structuring within the state organs and TMF's struggle against this organization. Martyr relative and veteran Oğuz Ayanoğlu talked about the developments on the July 15th Martyrs Bridge on the night of the coup.

At the end of the program, the panelists were presented with gifts. This meaningful event was an important step to ensure that July 15th is not forgotten and passed on to future generations.
