Turkish Maarif Foundation (TMF) organized a promotion and entertainment day for families at the newly purchased building of Maarif Schools in New Jersey, USA.
Families from the Turkish and Muslim communities living around New York and New Jersey participated in the program, held in the garden of the school in Wayne, New Jersey.
During the program, various activities were carried out for children, while families were given a tour of the new building and got informed on the works.
TMF USA Representative Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özkan stated that they had been studying online for a long time due to the new type of Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and this event was a good opportunity for families and children to come together.
"We are pleased that this program, carried out under COVID-19 measures, has received more attention than we expected. We presented our new building to the guests and families of our students, listened to their opinions and received very nice feedback. We have seen that our families and children really miss their school during this period," Özkan added.
Stating that they were preparing the new building for the 2021-2022 academic year, Özkan specified, "Our aim, as Maarif Schools, is to display an assertive quality in education in the USA. We continue to work in order to raise the level on this issue with our new premises."
Turkey's Ambassador to Washington, Hasan Murat Mercan, who was in New York for various meetings, also attended the program.
Mercan, who was greeted with flowers by Maarif Schools students, exchanged with the families, visited the new building and received information about the works undertaken.
