Habib Kadiri High School for Girls, a school of Turkish Maarif Foundation in Afghanistan, promoted its students for the fifth year. Sheberghan Maarif High Schools for Girls and Boys also promoted their students. A graduation ceremony was organized for the 88 students promoted in Sheberghan.
Turkish Maarif Foundation Board of Directors Member Ahmet Türkben, Turkey's Mazar-i-Sharif General Consul Şevki Seçkin Alpay, Jowzjan Governor Mevlevi Lotfollah Azizi, Provincial Director of Education Abdülhay Yeşin, TIKA Mazar-i-Sharif Coordinator Zühtü Çal, Mazar-i-Sharif Turkey's Religious Services Attaché Abdülcelil Alpkıray, a delegation from Turkish Maarif Foundation, civil and administrative chiefs and parents attended the ceremony at the school where 27 students could learn Turkish and Persian languages.
"TURKEY SHARES EXPERIENCE ON EDUCATION IN AFGHANISTAN"
In his speech at the ceremony, Mazar-i-Sharif General Consul Alpay declared that Turkish Maarif Foundation did its best to fix the physical conditions of the school that it took over and to improve the quality of education, then added, "The school we live in is an example of this work and effort. I see that our children and young people here want to maximize their level of education, they always aim for the better. This makes us happy. Turkey offers great opportunities and possibilities by moving its educational experience to Afghanistan. Our students who went on a scholarship to Turkey are getting to the very high quality of higher education. It is our desire that all students in our schools are the most successful students in Afghanistan, have a good university education, come to the good places in the future. I congratulate all of our parents with our students."
“WE DID NOT SOW ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE SEEDS OF LOVE IN THESE LANDS”
As for Turkish Maarif Foundation Board of Directors Member Ahmet Türkben, he declared that they were working for the development of Afghanistan in order to raise the children in the best way. Pointing out that Turkey has strong historical and cultural bonds with and responsibilities forward Afghanistan, Türkben added: “We came to these lands with the same principle of Maulana Jalaluddin Balkhi Rumi conveying the idea “We did not sow anything other than the seeds of love ın these lands”. Turkish Maarif Foundation is a foundation established by law by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey itself. As Maulana says, our offspring will place the fixed foot of the compass in their country and travel the world with the other foot. Turkish Maarif Foundation is present currently 32 countries with 183 schools, 17 dormitories and 2 universities. Never forget that the Turkish nation and the state are with the Afghan people. I would like to congratulate our students and their families for the graduation."
“TURKEY’S FRIEND IS ALSO OUR FRIEND”
Governor Azizi said that after the official signature of the agreement between the two countries, the transfer process of FETÖ-affiliated schools quickly began.
Explaining that they created a commission for the handover and that the process achieved successfully, the Governor Azizi declared: "Turkish Maarif Foundation has started its works immediately after the signature. Turkey is our friend. Turkey’s friends are our friends, as well as Turkey’s enemies are our enemies. Sheberghan people and all parents are happy with the new management, with Turkish Maarif Foundation. We are pleased to see the quality of education and higher education opportunities increasing. I would like to congratulate all our graduate students. They're our future. We will be better and more beautiful thanks to them. We have no doubts about this."
“STUDENTS ARE PROUD TO WAER THE LOGO OF THE MAARIF FOUNDATION”
The Provincial Director of Education Yeşin explained that the process of handover of FET/PYD affiliated schools to Turkish Maarif Foundation is based on the transfer agreement signed between the two countries and added: "It is a pleasure today to see our students proud of carrying the Turkish Maarif Foundation logo on their uniforms. This is a proof how Turkish Maarif Foundation addresses to the heart of the people and the children appreciate the foundation in return. There are historical, cultural, ethnical et many other bonds between Turkey and Afghanistan. I do believe that as long as the world and these two countries exist, these bonds will never break out. We give our students the promise that more people will go to study in Turkey with a scholarship. Now our students are graduating. I hope that our promise will come true. Finally, I would like to tell our students “Never stick to the obstacles, be one and be altogether, and save our home country."
"COLORFUL MOMENTS HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCED AT THE CEREMONY"
Turkish songs were sung by the students in the ceremony where intensive participation has been observed. Local music was performed by local artists. The program, which was in the mood of a festival, ended with the completion of the diploma ceremony and special gifts were presented to the students who received degrees, finally refreshments were offered to all students and parents.
