In an official visit to Equatorial Guinea, Turkey’s Foreign Affairs Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu expressed his gratitude towards the Equatorial Guinean government for having transferred some schools to Turkish Maarif Foundation when addressing at the official opening ceremony of Turkey’s Embassy in Malabo.
“Here, some schools have been transferred to Turkish Maarif Foundation. We thank Equatorial Guinea for their confidence in us”, expressed Çavuşoğlu specifying both countries took an important step in the field of education.
Taking the floor, Equatorial Guinean Foreign Affairs Minister Simeon Oyono Esono Angue expressed his satisfaction to see the level of education improving thanks to Maarif Schools.
Deputy Prime Minister of Equatorial Guinea Angel Masie Mebuy, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Simeon Oyono Esono Angue and Minister of Public Works, Housing and Urbanization Diosdado Nsue Medja attended the opening ceremony of the Turkish Embassy.
During the program, Çavuşoğlu highlighted that he was honored and happy for being the first Foreign Affairs Minister to pay an official visit in Equatorial Guinea on behalf of the Republic of Turkey.
Noting that diplomatic relations of both countries dated back to the 80’s, Çavuşoğlu said, “Thanks to the friendship between the Equatorial Guinean President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the relations of the two countries have progressed rapidly in the last 3-4 years.”
After his talks with his counterpart Angue, Çavuşoğlu stated that they agreed to take diplomatic relations further and that they would continue to work together.
