The president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Felix Tshisekedi, made a visit to Turkey.
Following the inter-delegation and one-on-one meetings, Erdoğan and Tshisekedi held a joint press conference.
President Erdoğan declared that the development of relations and cooperation with Africa constitutes one of the basic principles of Turkey’s humanitarian and entrepreneurial foreign policy and stressed that sincerity, brotherhood and solidarity constitute the essence of relations with Africa.
Erdoğan also spoke about the activities of the Turkish Maarif Foundation in the country and the struggle with FETÖ : "The Democratic Republic of the Congo has shown solidarity with our country by transferring the school of FETÖ in Kinshasa in 2018."
Currently, 538 students continue their education in our school where Turkish and Congolese teachers work. We are happy to see that the success of the Maarif Schools are steadily increasing.
We expect the authorities of the Democratic Republic of Congo to maintain their strong support for our school and our fight against FETÖ.
